Allan McCay

Dr Allan McCay is Co-Director of the Sydney Institute of Criminology and an Academic Fellow at Sydney Law School. His research sits at the intersection of criminal justice, neuroscience, neurotechnology and AI, with a particular focus on responsibility, sentencing and human rights in the context of emerging technologies. He is Global President of the Centre for Neurotechnology and Law and has advised governments, professional bodies and international organisations, including INTERPOL, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the Australian Human Rights Commission. He is also the author of the Law Society of England and Wales’ world-first report Neurotechnology, Law and the Legal Profession.
