Systems Engineering Leadership: Delivery

Overview

Participants will gain a solid understanding of systems thinking and systems engineering fundamentals in the delivery of projects. The course highlights the importance of systems engineering in addressing infrastructure challenges in a changing world and focuses on developing technical leadership skills for the built environment.

Group learning with industry case studies will allow participants to map processes, reflect on responsibilities from design to operations, and place specific systems engineering methods and tools in a strategic context. A panel discussion will offer additional insights into real-world applications.

Professor Whyte previously delivered this program at the Centre for Systems Engineering and Innovation at Imperial College London.

What you'll learn

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Grasp the core principles of systems thinking and systems engineering.
  • Recognise the significance of how systems thinking and systems engineering are important in delivery of the built infrastructure.
  • Acknowledge the critical role of technical leadership in systems engineering.
  • Advocate for systems engineering within your organisations and projects.
